The dried fruit of the bicchu phal plant is found in semi-arid, sub-tropical, and tropical climates. Hata Jori, Garuda Mukku, kaktundi, and Martynia annua are some of its other names. Dried fruit from a plant that grows in semi-arid, sub-tropical, and tropical climates makes up Bichhu Phal Herbs. Hata Jori, Garuda Mukku, kaktundi, and Martynia annua are some of its other names. In addition to being used to make beads and jewellery, Baghnakh Seeds have a long history of use in Indian folk medicine.

In the subtropical and tropical parts of the earth, particularly in Central America and the Indian subcontinent, Martynia has become widely naturalised. It often grows in untamed fields and fertile soils between lowlands and 1,500 metres in elevation.

Near the tops of the branches, racemes of tiny, tubular flowers (3-5 cm long) are produced, each raceme comprising numerous flowers. With darker purplish coloured lines on the five petal lobes and a line of yellow spots in the neck, they are pink, lavender, or pale in hue. Flowers of Bichhu Phal Herbs are carried on pedicels that are 10–20 mm long and have two stamens. Flowering takes place in the summer and fall.

Fruit from Bichhu Phal Herbs is a sizable fleshy capsule with two substantial seeds inside. Initially green in colour, Baghnakh Seeds fruit eventually turn grey or black and turn woody as they ripen. Each fruit has a short, curved projection (beak or horn, for example) that tapers to a point and splits into two curved "claws" that are crowned with tiny spines (body of fruit 2-3 cm long and 1-2 cm wide, with horns 5-10 mm long).

The following are Bichhu phal's therapeutic benefits:

Used to treat skin infections, TB, and asthma in Ayurvedic medicine.

Relief from burns, itching, sore throat, and epilepsy.

Patients with diabetes and depression benefit from it.

It speeds up wound healing because to its anti-bacterial, analgesic, and antioxidant properties.
