What is Gond Kondru(Boswellia serrata):
Boswellia serrata is a resin extract from the boswellia tree, which natural medicine practices have used for centuries. Its anti-inflammatory effects mean that it may help with inflammatory conditions, such as rheumatoid arthritis, inflammatory bowel disease, and asthma.

Boswellia serrata comes from the Boswellia serrata tree, which is native to India, North Africa, and the Middle East. Farmers tap the tree to collect its resin, which is called boswellia. Boswellia resin has a rich scent and flavor. It is very popular as an incense, and most people know it by its common name — frankincense.

Boswellia serrata, or Indian frankincense, is a resin herbal extract from the boswellia tree. In addition to being used as incense in religious rituals and ceremonies throughout India for thousands of years (and exported around the world), it has also been used as an antiseptic since ancient times when people discovered that rubbing their skin with it made them feel better when they had cuts or wounds on their bodies.

Uses:
 Boswellia serrata is a plant native to India, and it's been used for hundreds of years in Indian herbal treatments for multiple inflammatory conditions. Boswellia is believed to act via inhibition of 5-lipoxygenase, thereby decreasing leukotriene biosynthesis and resulting in diminished proinflammatory cytokine release.260 A small trial of active UC patients found that Boswellia 350 mg three times a day was as effective as sulfasalazine 1000 mg three times a day in decreasing symptoms and laboratory indicators. 

Boswellia can also be taken alone or combined with other ingredients to reduce pain and improve movement in people with osteoarthritis.

When you think of boswellia, you probably think of the plant extract that's been used as a traditional medicine for centuries. Boswellic acids are what give this plant its benefits, and they're made up of a pentacyclic triterpene and at least one other functional group (like an oxygen atom).

Alpha-boswellic acid and beta-boswellic acid are both made from this compound, but they differ only in their triterpene structure—that's where the name comes from: alpha means "first," and beta means "second."

The extracts contain resin, amino acids, phenols, terpenes, polysaccharides, and β-boswellic acid. These organic acids have been reported to inhibit hypersensitivity reactions by regulating both the humoral and cellular immune systems—they decrease primary antibody synthesis, inhibit polymorphonuclear leukocyte proliferation and infiltration (which means they help fight infection), enhance the phagocytotic function of macrophages (which means they can help clear away debris), suppress the classical and alternate complement pathways (which means they can keep your blood from clotting too much), among other things.
